Hello! Hope you enjoy this little snippet from the 3-part web series, Love & Leftovers!

The Setup: The double date did not go well, and the couples have split up under very tense circumstances. As we catch up to Joe & Angela figuring out what to do next....

INT. CAR- NIGHT

ANGELA shifts to face JOE. He keeps his attention on the road, driving hard.

                 ANGELA
        We have to go back.

                 JOE
        Naw, we’re not goin’ back.

                 ANGELA (beat)
Joe. We can’t leave them out there alone... Those two looked ready to kill each other! How can you just leave them?

                  JOE
They told me to go, Angela, okay? I think they need some space. Let’s give it to them.

                 ANGELA
Joe, you know we have to go back.

                 JOE
No, I don’t Look, don’t tell me what I know, alright? They told me to go.

JOE focuses on the road, hoping for case closed. ANGELA stares at him for a long moment, then slowly sits back in her seat.

She turns and looks out the window.

Silence.

JOE glances at her. He tries to speak, but nothing comes. After a beat, he shakes his
head and starts to slow down.

JOE
Sshhiiit...

ANGELA feels the car decelerate. She looks at JOE.

                   ANGELA
I thought we weren’t going back.

                   JOE
We’ll just... drive past. Take a look, y’know...

EXT. ROAD- NIGHT

The car pulls alongside the road and waits as a string of cars fly past. They make a wide u-turn and head back.

INT. CAR- NIGHT

JOE and ANGELA keep their eyes on the side of the road, looking for the others. They drive in silence.

EXT. ROAD- NIGHT

The car reaches the place where they were left behind. JOE slows down for a better look, but there’s no sign of anyone.

INT. CAR- NIGHT

JOE and ANGELA peer out into the darkness. They scan the roadside for a long moment, perplexed.

JOE
What...?

ANGELA
Stop the car.

He does. ANGELA steps out of the car.

EXT. ROAD- NIGHT

ANGELA crosses the street. JOE stands up and leans against his side of the car.

                   JOE
          You see them?

                   ANGELA
          No... They’re gone.
